What Are Esports?
Esports is the short form for Electronic Sports referring to any video gaming played on a professional level. In other words, it is any competition played using video games. It is amazing to find that the typical video games we play have turned into the biggest esports tournaments. Many years before now, this occurrence isn’t so, we only played video games for the fun of it. Today, literally any video game can be played as esports.
A majority of the video games scheduled for play at Esports are MOBA, which is a short form for the multiplayer online battle arena. MOBA makes up the biggest esports tournaments though there are other games played as well, for example, FPS, that is, First Person Shooter games. Other games played as esports games include: Real-Time Strategy games (RTS), Battle Royal games, digital collectible card games, fighting, etc.
Games like League of Legends, Fortnite Battle Royale, StarCraft, Super Smash Bros, Counter-Strike, Call of Duty, Dota 2, etc. to mention only a few, form the biggest esports tournaments. Though a majority of the games played at Kamloops tcc, the facility designed for various sporting events, are team-based, there are also head-to-head games and one-on-one games. Examples of such include Street Fighter V, Hearthstone, card games, etc.
